"Mmmmm empanadas! Having lived in Chile, I love a good empanada. Julia's even carries the classic chilean empanada de pino - beef, egg, olives. Try it just to say you did. What I really love here, however, are the veggie empanadas. They change up the ingredients frequently, so you never know exactly what you're going to get when you show up. Variety is key. It's nice to have somewhere to get delicious empanadas right around the corner instead of a continent away."

"Ah, the only place in DC where I can grab food and go without guilt. The Jamaican style holds a special place in the food section of my heart, and I tend to pair it with their strawberry dessert empanada. Add a drink to that, and that $5 worth of yummy goodness that you can bring back to your desk."

"THE place to get some grub after a night out in DC, this place has some of the best empandas around. There's always a line out the door and the food is really quite tasty, great portions and cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeap!"

"Julia's is great. Honestly, if you've never tried an empanada, you may as well move to the suburbs. Empanadas are baked (I think) pouches, with meat or veggies or basically whatever in them. Julia's is great because they offer a bunch of different kinds of empanadas every day, and their stock changes daily. Even their vegan option is different daily! They also have some pretty good soups and other things to munch on. They're open late, so if you're out drinking in Adams Morgan, you can still get a good, healthy late night snack."

"dear julia, how i miss your inexpensive and filling empanadas. you made lunches in DC worth eating. i was back in DC a few months ago and i tied one on and housed two (2!) veggie empanadas all by myself, julia's is still delicious as hell. go eat one for me right now please. julia's - come to san francisco!."

"I can only imagine how great these things taste after a night of drinking, because this stuff was amazing on a Sunday afternoon. I had the Jamaican and shared the Saltenas and the Chilean one with my friend, and they were all tasty. I also got to try the almond paste dessert emapanda, which didn't look like an empanada but was tasty anyways. And yes these do keep very well - pop them into the toaster oven and they're good as new."

"I've been to both the Dupont and AM Julia's and they are wonderful. The chilean beef with raisins is incredible. They are filling - one is perfect for a girl after going out to the bars all night, but probably two for a guy. There is always a huge line out the door but moves pretty efficiently- Soup Nazi style: say what you want, have your money ready, and move to the side. Also good for a spontaneous night out and just need something cheap and quick to tide you over."

"I need to find a place that serves decent empanadas here in San Francisco!! I adored these empanadas so much that I dragged all my friends there and reluctantly, they too agreed that those pockets of hot, tasty goodness were worth listening to my crazed raving. They never failed to hit the spot after a night out slamming tequila shots. Mmm...tequila..."

"Ok ok I admit I always get empanadas drunk but they do have some good empanadas. I love the different types they have there and I have once order one each just to see which one I like. My fav one is the Jamaican one...It's a good place after clubbing, to wind down. It's been a while since I go clubbing so I haven't had Julia's in a while, hmmm time to go party!"
